Recap of Meeting on November 16, 2009
Next general meeting will be Monday November 30 at 2:15pm in room S110
FCADV [Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence] Clothing Drive will begin November 30. Donate gently used clothing, shoes, etc. Can be any size it doesn't matter. Our goal: collect a minimum 100 items of clothing
Thanks to Kelsie McCleary we have a SPECIAL OLYMPICS EVENT You guys will be helping with set up, cooking, serving, and manning carnival game booths. Date: Sunday November 22 Time: 12pm- 6pm Location: Nova Southeastern University Davie Campus 3301 College Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314
Read over the volunteer packet. Bring a photo i.d. and the volunteer form the day of the event. If you are willing to participate, please reply back to this email. *** You don't have to be in the Special Olympics committee to volunteer. EVERYONE can participate.
Operation Smile Walk Date: Saturday December 12 Time: 9am- 1pm Location: Cooper City High School Track 9401 Stirling Rd Cooper City, FL 33328 Registration for this event is due before December 1st So if you are interested. Please turn in your forms before that date. You can email them to me or turn them into room S110 before or after school
Induction Ceremony Date: Tuesday November 24 Time: 6pm- 7:45pm (Please be there be 5:45pm so we can begin promptly) Location: SWR Library Auditorium. It's right next to our school. When you walk in it's on your right THE CEREMONY IS FOR BOTH NEW & RETURNING MEMBERS- Bring your parents :) RETURNING MEMBERS- reply back because you will be taking part in the ceremony & I need to give you more details.
Committee Tasks JOE DIMAGGIO- The committee will be meeting with the Cooper City KC President. Committee Chair please contact me SENIOR CENTER- Contact the Senior Center and ask if we can help them in making the baskets. Committee Chair- call me before if you don't understand. CAR WASH/FUNDRAISING- Come up with a car wash (preferably saturdays and sundays) or a fundraising event. Ex: bake sale, etc CARNIVAL- Start looking up prices of candy, refreshments (water, soda) and hot dogs so we can buy in bulk for the Carnival PR- You will be in charge of making Induction Ceremony invitations. Contact Gina Aguero for details CANNED FOOD DRIVE- You need to stay after school on Friday November 20 and collect cans from classrooms SPECIAL OLYMPICS- See if there are any other upcoming events we can participate in. If you don't understand what to do, don't be afraid to ask for help.
WAYS TO GET POINTS (only listing the important ones) (1-5 pts) For canned food items. last day to turn in is November 20 (2 pts) Poster for FCADV example is attached (? pts) Donations for FCADV Write your full name on everything you turn in so we know who to give points to. Kiwanis Carnival
The Kiwanis Carnival is coming up this December and we need volunteers. If you want to earn your points come and help us at our booth. Make sure to tell one of the officers that your interested ;)
Canned Food Drive!
Key Clubbers spread the word... our annual canned food drive is taking place Now through November 20. The third period class with the most cans collected will win a juice and donut party-a great way to kick off the holiday season! So start collecting!

About Us
Key Club is a student led community service organization at Pembroke Pines Charter High School. This club is part of the City of Pembroke Pines Kiwanis Club and sponsors various year round events. Major projects sponsored by the Key Club include Blood Collection Drives, UNICEF collection drives, and canned food drives.
